MIRI SEGAL, UP CLOSE

Performance/Audience/Mirror* by Dan Graham
Tuesday, May 5, 08:30 PM Israel Time, duration: 20 minutes
The first in a series of "Zoomenacting" of seminal works of art

Dan Graham's work is a “phenomenological inquiry into the audience/performer relationship and the notion of subjectivity/objectivity. Graham stands in front of a mirrored wall facing a seated audience; he describes the audience’s movements and what they signify.
He then turns and describes himself and the audience in the mirror.”**
The reenactment of this artwork on Zoom (Zoom-enacting) alters the logic of the gaze.
Who am I looking at? who is staring at me?
