"What interest me is not what the image can show but its mnature, its degree of presence, its relation to the viewer.Images are places of passage."

Havdala belongs to a group of works entitled Tower Attempts (1977-92), based on a day & night long photographic session – during the 'day of independence' – of a military/civilian transmission tower governing the TLV area. It was shown as a full sequence once at Documenta IX, Kassel (1992). Havdala was shown at the Noemi Givon Gallery, Tel Aviv (1983), in The Cycle of Days, Israel Museum, Jerusalem 1990), and as a long-term installation at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2009).
