‘The world belongs to those who set it on fire’ est une carte du monde dessinée avec
de la fumée de bougie. Elle fait partie d’une série de cartes sur papier, de taille et de
représentation diverses.
L’incandescence est une image importante de l’arsenal artistique de Cantor – ou plutôt
une non-image, refusant de se former en consumant ce qui brûle et se dissout dans
d’innombrables flammes à la recherche d’oxygène. L’artiste la compare souvent à la force
et au mécanisme de la dissémination de nouvelles idées, qui mettent le feu au monde tout
en annonçant de nouveaux et multiples modes de relation avec ce dernier.
