In this video titled ‘Molotov action, Jerusalem stone’, Douglas Gordon presents a looped recording in which his right hand is coating his left hand with white spray-paint and stays motionless on the wall until the aerosol can discharges completely. Like the negative imprints of a stencil that adorn the strategic points of the cave paintings of Lascaux or those of Chauvet, that Artist’s hand, once lifted, leaves behind a ‘tag’ such as, a timeless and very pictorial trickles liquefied paint onto the antediluvian wall.
