Nelly Agassi: Insomnia, Artist Talk

The International Museum of Surgical Science will host Nelly Agassi for an artist talk in honor of her new solo exhibition.

 

Her work features repetitive, obsessive actions that connect her to reality and provide a sense of grounding. Agassi's art marks a shift in feminist thought from political engagement to exploring femininity, focusing on personal choice and privilege rather than social constraints. While her work references traditional women’s crafts like embroidery and knitting, she transforms them into non-functional, thought-provoking pieces that reflect a conscious moment of choice.
