The exhibition "Dreams of an Owl, Who the Bær and the Wounded Planet" explores the shifting relationship between humans and nature, inspired by Hans Arp’s 1937/38 sculpture "Owl Dream." It examines how art can encourage a new perspective in light of the climate crisis and the Anthropocene. Featuring over 200 works by international artists, including Max Beckmann, Gerhard Richter, and local artists like Simone Nieweg, the exhibition reimagines the Kunsthalle Bielefeld’s collection to question how we view our connection to the planet. Fujiwara adds a contemporary voice with a special intervention.
From November 30, 2024, to February 23, 2025, Kunsthalle Bielefeld presents "Dreams of an Owl, Who the Bær and the Wounded Planet," reimagining its collection with an intervention by British-Japanese artist Simon Fujiwara.
