Simon Fujiwara is featured in In Other Worlds: Acts of Translation, a major group exhibition on view at The Roberts Institute of Arts from June 25 to September 13, 2025, developed in collaboration with Focal Point Gallery. Bringing together over 15 works from the David and Indrė Roberts Collection — several of which are being exhibited publicly for the first time — the show explores translation as a dynamic process of movement, transformation, and reinterpretation.
Through storytelling and myth, history and memory, language and materiality, the exhibition reflects on how meaning shifts across time, cultures, and forms. Fujiwara’s work is presented alongside that of nselm Kiefer, Michael Armitage, George Condo, Ellen Gallagher, and others, contributing to a multifaceted investigation into how gaps in understanding can become spaces for invention.
Rather than seeking definitive interpretations, In Other Worlds embraces the partial, unfinished nature of translation, proposing it as a generative act — one that reshapes how we engage with the world, with others, and with the stories we tell.
The exhibition will open on June 25, 2025.
