Publication Launch: Marianne Berenhaut — De Bon Coeur de Bunker

May 9, 2025

Dvir Gallery Paris is pleased to host the launch of De Bon Coeur de Bunker, a new monograph dedicated to the work of Marianne Berenhaut. The event will take place on Saturday, May 9th, 2025, at 5 PM.

Published by Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, the book offers the first comprehensive overview of Berenhaut’s practice, spanning from the 1960s to the present. The publication emerges from the exhibition held at Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, a former World War II bunker — a charged site that echoes the layered histories embedded in Berenhaut’s sculptural installations. Through arrangements of objets trouvés, sketchbooks, and assemblages, Berenhaut’s work weaves together personal memory and collective trauma with both gravity and disarming lightness, placing her in dialogue with figures such as Louise Bourgeois, Christian Boltanski, and Emilia and Ilya Kabakov. With contributions by Nico Anklam, Michel Kolenberg, and Nadine Plateau, De Bon Coeur de Bunker reflects on the transformation of spaces and objects as vessels of memory and resilience.

The event will take place in the presence of the artist and the curator Nico Anklam.
