Yudith Levin's Retrospective at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem

January 13, 2026 - June 6, 2026
Dvir Gallery is pleased to announce that Yudith Levin is the subject of a major retrospective at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, on view from January 13 to June 6, 2026. Curated by Amitai Mendelsohn, the exhibition surveys more than five decades of the artist’s groundbreaking practice.

Yudith Levin's work is built on contrasts: it is fragile yet powerful, personal yet collective, broken yet whole. In her art she walks a tightrope, constructing delicately balanced pictorial and sculptural compositions poised on the verge of collapse. From her late-1970s sculptural installations in plywood and painted wooden slats, associated with the “Want of Matter” movement, to her later paintings oscillating between figuration and abstraction, she has developed a precise visual language. The selection presented in this exhibition, culled from half a century of artistic work, reveals a multilayered artistic dialogue between reality and myth, wholeness and dissolution, matter and spirit.
