In his works, Ariel Schlesinger usually addresses one of two topics, togetherness and fire. In his work ‘Togetherness’, which is already historical, he combines them. The flames of two lighters mingling can be interpreted as a silent dialogue, a dance,  a sort of negotiation. We understand this unanimous burning as the symbol of a peaceful intimacy but also as a constant change occurring in relationships. Simple things like lighters or papers in Ariel Schlesinger’s work develop a true individual existential character. Schlesinger endows objects with emotions, confers a poetic magic through them. Making the simplest of gestures, takes on a metaphorical dimension and suddenly it represents an entire being, social and emotional with desires and fears.
