Dvir Gallery is delighted to announce the participation of Adel Abdessemed in the Bangkok Art Biennale 2024.
Bangkok Art Biennale has announced the theme and artists for its fourth edition, Nurture Gaia. Drawing inspiration from the figure of Mother Earth, who has historically symbolized a ‘nurturer and giver of life across cultures,’ the biennale will explore themes of ecology, femininity, ecological resilience, and biodiversity through the works of 45 local and international artists. The event will be presented across nine venues, including the ancient temples Wat Arun, Wat Pho, and Wat Prayoon. A quarter of the works will be new and previously unseen. Bringing Bangkok’s art scene to global attention, the biennale will feature a series of symposia and performances during its opening week. Opening on 24 October and continuing through 25 February 2025, the event will include three-metre tall sculptures of pigeons rigged with dynamite by Adel Abdessemed.
